The earlier you go, the greater the reward 🕌

A Reward That Grows With Every Hour

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ described Friday attendance in a way that turns a simple walk to the mosque into something much bigger:

"Whoever performs ghusl on Friday like the ghusl for janabah and then goes [to the mosque, in the first hour], it is as if he had offered a camel [in sacrifice]; whoever goes in the second hour, it is as if he had offered a cow; whoever goes in the third hour, then it is as if he had offered a ram; whoever goes in the fourth hour, then it is as if he had offered a hen; and whoever goes in the fifth hour, then it is as if he had offered an egg. When the imam comes out [to deliver the khutbah], the angels fold up their scrolls and listen to the reminder." (Sahih Bukhari, 881)

What This Actually Means

Every hour you arrive earlier than the last person carries its own tier of reward — from the equivalent of a camel down to an egg. Once the khutbah begins, the recording stops. It's a gentle, built-in incentive to not leave things until the last minute.

A Small Shift, A Big Difference

None of this requires a dramatic change — just leaving the house a little earlier than usual. Getting ready calmly, walking (or driving) without rushing, and using the extra minutes before the khutbah for dhikr or a few rak'ahs instead of scrolling through your phone.

Knowing exactly when Dhuhr time starts each Friday makes it much easier to plan an early arrival instead of a last-minute dash.
